It is unrealistic and an abuse of power. All major impactful processes should be done gradually.

This will have a negative impact on my community. Electric cars are fine for those who want them. Let it be a choice, not a demand. For people who can afford it, let them, but why remove gas entirely? Control?
Yesenia M. – English
We, the people, should have a choice in the vehicles we use for transportation. Electric vehicles are not safe! The lithium battery they are powered by is harmful to the Earth. Just because they are considered high-tech does not mean it’s a wise choice. To top it off, not everyone can afford an electric vehicle, nor do we want one. This is just another way for politicians to make more money, hurt our economy, and discriminate against their community members.

They want to implement a new electric movement when it is very difficult to do so in semi-trucks. The laws make it harder for truckers to continue with their own business due to the regulations they enforce.

As of January 1, 2024, the sale of new gasoline-powered lawn equipment is prohibited in California. I must express that, after 20 years living in California, I have never felt so much frustration with these types of laws. It is unacceptable that bans are implemented from a desk, without true knowledge about gardening work. Laws are supposed to protect the people, not benefit a political few.
Carlos A. C. – English
They don’t even have enough charging sources to want to switch to electric trucks.

This is a big problem for the poor, as only large corporations have the capacity to make such drastic changes. Independent drivers live day by day, and this change requires a significant investment. In other words, many of us would be left unemployed.
Jennifer J. – English
In every emergency, it isn’t electric cars you need, it is gas powered equipment. The push for electric is ridiculous!
Bernadette – English
You have to fix the infrastructure first. Invest in the communities and not corporate pockets.
Mark A. G. – English
A solely electric California leaves us vulnerable to disaster. Petroleum must always be part of the conversation for safety, prosperity, and freedom.
