Electric trucks, besides being expensive, are costly to charge and have a limited range. Imagine if we had to replace all our trucks with electric ones; everything would become more expensive just to compensate for the cost of those machines. We are not prepared for this transition. We will struggle and fall into a deep depression.

They have not implemented a financial analysis of the truck debt, whether paid off or still owed, of the truck owners, and they have not taken into account the truckers’ association.

I tell them to think about those of us who are owner-operators and only have one truck to support our family. Large transportation companies can buy up to 10 electric trucks, but for us, it’s more difficult because with so many regulations, they leave us no money to afford those trucks.

You’re going to have a lot of people out of a job, just look at the 650-plus refinery workers who lost their jobs. The State is making things worse and families are leaving California for a better life elsewhere.
